It’s so important to have a strategy for what you will teach your students. Without a strategy, we run the risk of missing important ideas, teaching only the topics that personally interest us most, and ultimately failing to give our students a full and holistic view of God. The teaching strategy behind Grow Students has been created, influenced, and written by hundreds (literally) of real youth pastors, in real youth ministries, from a diversity of church contexts, cultures, sizes, and denominations. Our goal is to help you help your students grow spiritually, by teaching and discussing Scripture in developmentally appropriate ways.

A 4-week series on Friendship

Everyone wants a squad — a community of people that cares for us, helps and supports us, and gives us a place to belong. In short, we all want to be part of a community that feels like family. That kind of community isn't easy to come by, but it's exactly what Jesus had in mind for His followers when the Church first began. In this series, we'll discover why the word "Church" means something much bigger than a building, we'll learn what life was like for some of the earliest Christians, and we'll explore four big ideas that mean as much for us today as they did to the Jesus-followers who lived nearly 2,000 years ago. The truth is, we can all be part of God's family, and because we're God's family, we can do for others what God has done for us, we can grow together, and we can stand strong together.

Jesus had to remind His followers to share a few things, too. In this 4-week series, we’ll explore passages from the Gospels and the Book of Acts through the lens of community. Each week, we’ll look at one passage about Jesus and one story about how some of His first followers put His teachings into practice in the days of the early Church. As we do, you’ll help your students learn to better love and care for each other by sharing what they have: their stuff, their ideas, their lives, and their stories.

We all want to know who we are — what we’re good at, what we’re not-so-good at, what makes us unique, and why we matter. Unfortunately, we spend a lot of time (especially as teenagers) creating identities based on all the wrong things. In this 4-week series, you’ll help teenagers discover that they will never fully understand who they were created to be apart from the God who created them. He’s a God who knows us, who gives us a place to belong,who helps us understand ourselves, and who helps us become everything He has created us to be.
