Download Slides WHAT TO GET BLINDFOLD. You’ll need ONE per team. TAPE. PAINTER’S TAPE or MASKING TAPE works perfectly. You will need a good amount and it depends on how many teams you have. WHAT TO PREP THE MAZE. Decide how many teams you will have. Then use the tape to make a path from one area to another. Make sure the path goes front, back, left, and right. If the path goes in a complete circle make sure to use your tape to make arrows to which direction they must go. The longer the path the longer the game. Make the same number of paths as you will have teams playing (try to make sure they are about equal in length and difficulty). HOW TO PLAY SQUAD UP! Split your group into teams go 5. Give one player a blind fold and start them at the beginning of their path. The rest of the team will assemble around the blindfolded player. One player in front, one player behind, one to the left and right. BE A-MAZE-ING! On “Go,” squads will navigate the maze together. If the squad wants a player to move forward then the student in the from will talk. If they want the blindfolded player to move backward the person in the back will talk. The blind folded player should stay facing one direction that way everyone is on the same side the whole time. If at any point the blindfolded player steps out of the path then that team must start back at the beginning of their path. The first squad to finish their maze is the winner! PRO TIPS If you need to save space you can play with one path and just time each group to see who is the fastest. You can also add obstacles like chairs to go over or under. Make sure you have enough adult leaders on the course watching for teams that go outside the path.
