They\u2019re a way to have fun, connect with kids and families, get new people in the door, and create some excitement. Events matter, but we\u2019ve got to keep things in perspective. That\u2019s why we\u2019re fans of keeping your event strategy really simple, because <strong>you can make a bigger impact each year if you choose to do fewer events with more intentionality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s face it \u2014 there&#8217;s <em>so much<\/em> to do in ministry. We can easily fill up our calendars with activities, movie nights, craft days, family festivals, field days, and so much more. <strong>But if we did every event we ever thought about doing, we\u2019d have a few problems &#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">We&#8217;d only be <strong>adding to the chaos<\/strong> of families who are equally busy.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">We&#8217;d be <strong>burning out<\/strong> our of volunteers and staff members who are also pretty busy.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">We&#8217;d be giving kids and parents <strong>so many options<\/strong> we&#8217;d probably only see them at a handful of things each year, resulting in lower participation in everything we do.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">We&#8217;d be <strong>spending time, money, and resources<\/strong> on things that aren&#8217;t always strategic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With so many potential options, we need a strategy to help us guide which events we\u2019ll do when, which is why we suggest doing fewer events for a bigger impact. <strong>We can\u2019t do everything, but the events we do can be done with purpose. <\/strong>Our events will be strategically designed to help kids connect with each other, trusted adults (like you and your volunteers), and with God.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re an event-planning expert or you&#8217;re still figuring things out, we hope this strategy we\u2019re about to unpack will give you a framework for your annual event strategy that you can replicate and improve year after year. A FALL EVENT<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Every fall, we recommend doing <strong>a big just-for-fun event to kick off your school year! <\/strong>This event could be anything you and your team find fun at the moment!
