From the schedule, to decorations, to volunteer recruitment, to renting special equipment, to promoting your event, <strong>there&#8217;s so much to do! <\/strong>So, where do you begin?<\/p>\n<p>Well, no matter what kind of event you&#8217;re planning, we want to help! Since our team here at Stuff You Can Use has planned lots, and lots, and <em>lots <\/em>of kids and youth ministry events over the years, <strong>we thought we&#8217;d put together a little checklist to help you plan your next event! <\/strong>Whether you&#8217;ve planned a zillion events in your ministry career, or you&#8217;ve just been tasked with your very first one, <strong>use this timeline as a checklist <\/strong>to make sure you&#8217;ve got everything covered.<\/p>\n<p>This timeline assumes you&#8217;ll start planning your event three months in advance \u2014 but we know ministry can be a little unpredictable. If you&#8217;re already feeling a little behind, don&#8217;t worry! For now, shrink this timeline to fit the deadlines you&#8217;re working with. Your event is finished, and there&#8217;s a buzz of energy around what you&#8217;ve done. You might think your work is done, but there&#8217;s just one more thing to do. The week after your event is just as important as the week leading up to your event. Take time to debrief with your team to see what you&#8217;ve learned, what stories are worth sharing, and how you can keep improving your events! Here are a few things to remember&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Return any supplies you borrowed.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Debrief with your volunteer team.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Post a recap video and images on social media and encourage teenagers to tag themselves or their friends.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Follow up with new visitors.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Send thank-you cards to volunteers who served at the event, especially your first-time volunteers.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Celebrate your wins with your staff and volunteer teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s so much to remember as you plan your next event, but hopefully this checklist makes it a little easier for you!<\/p>\n<p>And hey \u2014 has anyone told you lately that you&#8217;re amazing?
