We are days away from Valentine’s Day. We didn’t want to embarrass you with a big teddy bear or a visit from the florist, but don’t be fooled. We love you!

Here are a few things coming up in our ministry . . .

ADD YOUR OWN DATES: CROSSWAY STATION
This quarter, we’re having kids travel around a “train station” to learn more about what Jesus did for them! Climb aboard!

ADD YOUR OWN DATES: VOLUNTEER MEETING(S)
Thank you for coming out to last month’s volunteer meeting! Our next meeting is around the corner, so mark your calendars! We hope to see you there as we learn about [add your own topic(s)] together.

ADD YOUR OWN DATES: KIDS COLOR RUN
This quarter’s event will have kids exploding with excitement, energy, and lots of color! Get pumped!

OPPOSITE DAY: A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT ON JESUS’ TEACHINGS
WEEK 1 BIG IDEA: Following Jesus is the opposite of following ourselves.

SERIES OVERVIEW:

Up is Down. Right is Left. Cold is Hot. That’s right, we’re celebrating opposite day this whole month (or should we say, not celebrating? This could get confusing!) This series will give kids a chance to talk about the counter-culture things Jesus said. It sounds impossible to believe that struggles bring us closer to Jesus or that our enemies can teach us about love. However, these beautiful opposites remind us that a God we can’t see is always with us and that it’s better to follow Jesus than our own instincts. Happy Opposite Day!

How do you talk to kids about fasting? If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, if you don’t know what to say, or if you’re thinking, “oh, I didn’t know we were supposed to do that . . .” that’s perfectly fine! If we’re being honest, fasting is a spiritual habit that’s hard to understand and potentially dangerous if not handled correctly. So let’s talk about some ideas to explain fasting in a way that’s both healthy and useful to a kid!

If you’re subscribed to Grow Your Ministry, now would be a good time to attach Volunteer Tip Video #7 from your Volunteer section.

At least once this month, choose a volunteer to celebrate. Add their picture and a few sentences about what makes them awesome!

What’s your favorite way to spend time with God? Reply to this email and let us know! We’d love to hear from you.
